Contact Yoshie

Yoshie Kumagai specialises in furoshiki, mizuhiki and gift wrapping, and offers a variety of services, including commercial gift wrapping and tailored orders. She also conducts workshops, demonstrations, private classes and classes for schools.

Kumagai graduated with an Advanced Diploma in Graphic Design at TAFE NSW Sydney Institute’s Design Centre Enmore and is a qualified gift wrapping coordinator, recognised by the Wrapping Association of Japan.

Combining design skills and knowledge from Japan, she started introducing and teaching furoshiki techniques, gift wrapping and mizuhiki in and around Sydney since 2009.

Musubi, the name of my business,  is a Japanese word meaning “knot” but it also has another meaning—”connecting two things or people”. The business name reflects my hope to be a point of connection for Japan and Australia, and other countries.
